Support Jacqueline's 3D Printing Project in Kenyan Hospital
Donation protected
Hi! My name is Jacqueline Villalobos and I am raising funds to support my education endeavor at the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret, Kenya. The project takes place in the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MRTH) in Eldoret, Kenya. In high-income countries there is a facility to have access to healthcare, where one does not think twice about having access to medical equipment. The MRTH finds itself in a medically low-resource setting where varying medical technologies are not easily available due to their high-cost and the hospital’s limited resources. This project aims to utilize 3D printing as a tool to help provide a sustainable solution for medical equipment. 3D printing will serve to help manufacture medical tools, along with the feasibility of 3D printing in the long-term for MRTH. The possibility of introducing devices that are completely 3D printable which can aid in various supportive devices. In conclusion, the implementation of 3D printing at MRTH shows promise for creating a sustainable solution that can continue to be used in MRTH. With this 3D-printing knowledge the medical staff can have a sustainable, fitting solution in MRTH, while seeing the development of 3D printed medical devices and equipment in the hospital and their patients. This knowledge and work has the ability to pave a way towards equitable healthcare in the Eldoret and Kenyan community.
