We are organizing support for our beloved community member, Jacqueline Das. After relocating to Portland, Oregon, Jacqueline opened Yaad Style Jamaican Cuisine, a hub of Jamaican culture, food, music, and community gathering for Jamaicans abroad. She has supported our Portland community for years, offering her time, space, and energy, and it is our time to show support for her and her family in Jamaica.

Her family was affected by Hurricane Melissa. Jacqueline's sister lost her entire home. The pictures you see here is coming directly from her sister and her community called Friendship in the parish of Westmoreland. The whole community was destroyed and entire families are now homeless. There is minimal access to food, water, clothing, and other essential needs.

All of the proceeds from this Gofundme will go directly to Jacqueline to help her family and community along with paying for the cost of shipping barrels of essential items needed to Jamaica.
