My mom, Jacque, just had a major surgery to remove one of her lungs after the progression of a disease called bronchiectasis became life threatening. My family has been in the hospital with her over the past two weeks, and we are expecting to stay here for a while longer as my mom recovers. These have been some of the hardest weeks of my family's life, but we are very hopeful for the future and are doing all we can to get my mom back on her feet. 

My family is the last one to ever ask for help, but I know that these weeks in intensive care will be expensive for my parents, David and Jacque. I decided to run a half-marathon to help raise money to cover my mom's medical costs, which seemed like the very least I could do in this situation. I'm asking for donations in multiples of $13, for the 13 miles I'm going to run, but any amount you can give would be immensely appreciated!
