Hi, my name is Jennifer. I'm asking for help for my son, Jacob. Jacob has suffered for many years from back pain. He has a condition much like the one I have that nearly 2 years ago required emergency surgery because bone was compressing my spinal cord and causing me to lose the function of the lower part of my body. Jacob's back has become severe in the last several months. Over the years, he has tried therapy, exercise, muscle relaxers, anti-inflammatories, pain injections, and an ablation of his nerves. Unfortunately, none of these have provided any long-term relief. Lately, his pain has become so severe that he has actually been found by coworkers crying in pain. Despite the pain, he still continues to try to get up and report for his shift as a butcher Stauffers of Kissel Hill Lititz. Unfortunately, that has become almost an impossible task. He recently learned that his pain is caused by a bone pushing on his nerve in the S1 region of his back. This is not only causing the severe pain, but he now has lost feeling in several toes as well as losing control of his legs at times. This will require urgent back surgery and a long recovery. At that time, we will learn if he will have any relief from his misery and/or permanent deficits to his functioning.
This weekend, Jacob was found on a sidewalk outside his employer, crying, unable to get up on his own, traffic driving by as he lay there in pain, helpless, defeated, and concerned for his future health and financial future.
My goal is to help alleviate some of the stress from financial worries and allow him to focus on his health until his surgery, be able to stay home, and manage his pain.
After the surgery, my hope is that he will be able to take advantage of physical therapy and, when it's safe, return to the job he loves. Jacob is very proud, hardworking, and responsible. Jacob is recently engaged to his beautiful girlfriend Corrine.
If you can give $10, $25, $50, $100, anything would help.
