My nephew, Jacob Smith, a sergeant in the Marines, was in a horrible motorcycle accident a few weeks ago. Due to the convoluted rules in our healthcare system, he is being released from his rehab center, which could impact his knee surgery. He has a torn ACL, torn LCL, and a shredded meniscus and cannot walk on that leg at all.

If he doesn't get that surgery, he could be discharged from the Marines where he has served for 10 years. He wants to have a full career with the Marines, so this would be devastating for him.

While he and my sister fight the various insurance companies (including the one that represents the other people in the accident who hit him), he needs that surgery as soon as possible.
