Support Jacob's Recovery and New Start

Hi, I’m Jacob, a 33-year-old who thought I was in good health. On June 27, I went to the hospital with what I believed was a simple flu or virus. After five days of no improvement and numerous tests, I began to deteriorate rapidly. My condition was quickly escalating into sepsis, causing my body to attack itself. Desperate for answers, we sought a new doctor who thankfully brought fresh ideas.

After countless tests, laying on ice packs to battle a fever, not eating, and being afraid I wasn’t going to get better, my vitals are finally stabilizing. However, my body has undergone a severe assault. This ordeal has left me unable to work, and I anticipate an extended recovery period and a slow start back to work. I’ve recently started a new job and, unfortunately, do not yet have medical benefits, leaving me without insurance during this critical time.

I’m seeking your support to help cover lost wages and medical expenses, including ongoing follow-up visits with specialists. We were thankful to be able to use credit, and borrow from family for all the traveling and meals on the road but that has unfortunately left us in a hole. Without being able to go back to work yet we are relaying on one income.

Additionally, my family is in the process of finding permanent housing after recently relocating to be closer to family and friends in NC. Our savings have been depleted, leaving us starting all over. Any assistance you can provide will be greatly appreciated as I navigate this challenging time.
