Jacob Roll, my brother-in-law, was diagnosed with IGA Nephropathy several years ago, where his immune system attacks the kidneys. For almost 2 years, Jacob has been undergoing in-home dialysis every night, waiting for a kidney transplant. He is married to my sister Michelle, and they have two daughters Sadie and Mia.

A kidney match was finally found, and they were blessed with a live donor. Jacob received his transplant on May 8, 2026! While this is a huge step forward, the journey is far from over. The costs associated with dialysis, transplant procedures, medication, and frequent trips to Atlanta for doctor’s appointments are significant.
