Help Support Jacob and His Family Through His Battle with Ewing Sarcoma
Jacob Avila, a bright and determined 20-year-old college student at the University of Arizona, has always dreamed of becoming a veterinarian so he can dedicate his life to helping animals. But recently, his journey took an unexpected turn when he was diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma, a rare and aggressive form of bone cancer.
Jacob has begun an intensive course of treatment that includes eight rounds of chemotherapy, removal of a kidney and tumor, followed by radiation therapy, and then another series of chemo treatments. These life-saving measures are physically, emotionally, and financially demanding.
Because of the seriousness of his treatment, Jacob has had to take a leave from his studies in Tucson. His parents have been by his side every step of the way, helping him navigate the hospital stays, side effects, and emotional toll that come with such a difficult diagnosis. His mother, Carrie Avila, is a teacher at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton and breast cancer survivor, and his father, Rene Avila, works as the maintenance engineer—both dedicated, hardworking, and loving parents who are now doing everything they can to keep their family strong through this challenge.
While the family is deeply grateful for medical insurance, the costs of inpatient care, medications, travel, and time away from work quickly add up. On top of this, Jacob’s parents are doing their best to care for their twin daughters while being present for Jacob during his treatments.
We are reaching out to the community in hopes that you might help support this incredible family during their time of need. Every contribution—no matter how small—helps ease the burden and allows them to focus on what matters most: Jacob’s recovery.
If you are able, please consider donating or sharing this fundraiser to help Jacob and his family through this trying journey. Your kindness and generosity mean more than words can express.
Thank you for standing with them in hope, prayer, and support.
