Jacob is a energetic active 17 yr old from Cadillac, MI.  He is the son of Angie and Ben Taylor.  He was suffering from a sinus infection with sever headache and went to the ER in Cadillac.  He was given an antibiotic and started to feel better after a few days.  He was hanging out with friends a couple weeks later and had what appears to be a seizure and they called an ambulance for him.  After being examined in the ER in Cadillac, being placed on a ventilator and sedated, he was flown to Devos Children's Hospital in Grand Rapids on October 2nd.   After several CT scans, blood work and an MRI, it was discovered that his sinus infection had caused an abscess.  ENT and Neurosurgeons were called in and surgery was scheduled.    October 3rd - ENT did sinus clearing surgery and then Neurosurgeons began work on draining the abscess.  This was done making an incision from ear to ear across his head to be able to access the infection.  Surgery went well and Jacob is still on a ventilator, but able to respond with hand gestures.  He has a long road of recovery ahead of him and Neurosurgeons are watching the infection and may need to go in again for an additional surgery.

This Go Fund Me is to raise funds to cover medical expenses and expenses for the family so they can be with him at all times during his stay in the hospital.  Jacob is expected to be in the hospital for a minimum of a week.  He will be sent home with a picc line, which was placed yesterday, so that he can receive intravenous antibiotics.  We will continue to update Jacob's status frequently.
