Support Jacob Hobbs' Fight Against Rare Cancer

My name is Sabrina Hobbs, in the picture is my husband Jacob Hobbs and our six-year-old son, Coleton. Three weeks ago, Jacob was diagnosed by Markey Cancer Center with Signet Ring Cell Adenocarcinoma, a rare type of adenocarcinoma accounting for less than 1% of all colon cancers. Since cancer screening is not recommended until the age of 45 and there is no family history, they just discovered the cancer, and he is in stage four. He is very sick. Our small family is devastated, understandably as anyone would be. We are lost and struggling trying to figure out the future and what that might look like, we are terrified and need prayers. Jacob is 26 years old and has been a hard worker since he was a teenager in high school. It is very difficult for us to ask for help, but this is far more than we can do alone as cancer treatment is expensive and insurance companies want to dictate how much they will cover. On top of the medical expenses, we are faced with other needs such as being near the hospital while he is doing chemo, gas, food, and other items that my stressed-out brain cannot think of right now. Jacob was scheduled to start Chemo the 22nd this month but Saturday night he had to be transported to UK Hospital for emergency surgery.

Update: Jacob got to come home from the hospital today the 21st where he is now resting and healing for chemo as soon as he is able! We are praying to get into Hope Lodge, but we have been told there is no guarantee as it is highly sought after by others who are needing care.
