On what should have been a peaceful neighborhood walk in Temecula, California, life took a heartbreaking turn for Jacob Stein, a devoted husband, father, and the proud owner of Jet Auto Glass, a respected mobile auto-glass repair business serving Southern California.

An unleashed dog viciously attacked Jacob and his sweet dog, Captain. The injuries were severe. Despite being rushed to a San Diego trauma hospital, doctors were unable to save his right thumb. This devastating loss means Jacob cannot work for the foreseeable future, and his recovery will be long and challenging.

Jet Auto Glass is a small, family-run business operated solely by Jacob and his wife, Elise. Without Jacob’s hands-on expertise, Elise cannot take on the work alone. This has now left their family, including their teenage son, without income during a frightening and uncertain time.

As if that weren’t enough, Jacob’s loyal companion, Captain (a gentle and loving Great Pyrenees), was also attacked during the same incident. Captain, who lives with epilepsy, suffered a seizure shortly after the incident and endured additional injuries, including a badly bitten tongue. The emotional and financial burden on this family is overwhelming.
