Support Jacob Baer's Medical Recovery

Jacob Baer, 45 years old, husband of Janet, and father of six children, has been hospitalized multiple times and has had several surgeries since June 17. He and his family were on vacation in Bear Lake when he decided to go to the Logan hospital for stomach pains. The doctors discovered an obstruction in his colon, and as they performed the surgery, they also discovered and removed a tumor. Following the surgery, they tested the tumor and determined that Jacob will need treatment for cancer.

He was recovering well, although he had not yet met with an oncologist, when he had to be hospitalized again. His kidneys were failing, and he was struggling to breathe. The doctor found a bowel perforation and multiple surgeries were performed to clean a serious infection from his stomach, and during the surgery they removed a significant portion of his large intestine.

He has a long, difficult path of recovery. Not only does he need to recover from the multiple surgeries and the removal of his large intestine, but because of the extended hospital stays and multiple surgeries, he hasn't been able to meet with an oncologist to find out about his cancer diagnosis and treatment. He has missed work since June 17, and has significant medical bills.
