My name is Jaclyn Smith-Esters, and on January 22nd, I will be undergoing open-heart surgery at the Cleveland Clinic. This is a major and lifesaving procedure, and while I am focusing on preparing physically and emotionally, my family and I are also facing significant logistical and financial challenges during this time.

My husband and I will be traveling to Cleveland with our two small children, and because I will be hospitalized for several days, my family will need to stay in a hotel nearby. The cost of lodging, transportation, meals, and childcare, combined with the income I will lose while I recover, creates a financial strain that we are unable to manage alone.

I will be out of work for approximately six weeks during recovery, and during that time I want to focus fully on healing while ensuring my family has what they need.
