Hi, I am Kaye McLaughlin, the mother of Jaclyn Ornelas, who’s fiancee , my future son in law, lost his life in a car accident on January 15, 2026. The accident happened on Hereford Road, as Gavin was heading to an award assembly for my granddaughter. As a mother you always want to be there for your children and help them in any way possible. Unfortunately, when it comes to finances, I can only provide so much, and I am hoping you can help.
Jaclyn is a school nurse and is very popular among the students. She has the biggest heart and has even given the clothes off her back to a student in need. Jaclyn will use her personal money to provide what is needed for the students, whether it be snacks or a pair of socks. Anyone, even the staff, can count on Jaclyn. She has become an important part of the community.
However, since the accident, she is unable to return to work as she grieves the loss of Gavin, her fiancee, and tries to figure out the logistics of what her life has become. This has had an enormous impact on Jaclyn and my granddaughters. They are not able to stay in the home they had with Gavin. Along with having to find a new home she has inherited the three dogs that her and Gavin shared.
With the deposit of a new place comes the deposit of all the utilities and even a pet deposit. Jaclyn’s oldest daughter is a senior in high school which comes with its own financial demands(pictures, cap and gown, etc.). The school has been providing meals, in which we are all beyond grateful for. Unfortunately, that will soon run out. I, as the mother and grandmother, am asking for your help in helping Jaclyn and the girls get through this and help in any way you can. Every dollar counts and will be beneficial to them. We all thank you for all your condolences and help that has already been received. We could not ask for a better community and the support that has been given as we mourn the loss of Gavin.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart,
Kaye McLaughlin
