Support Jacksonville's Injured or abandoned Ducks
Donation protected
Hey y'all. It's Duckville in Jacksonville, where you can take Jacksonville's injured & defenseless ducks or abandoned ducklings. We just received 4 off the median of Beach Blvd last month. We are always in full force here with the amount of Muscovies in Jacksonville and nowhere to take them due to them being invasive. They're here though. Someone needs to help these guys, and since BEAKS closed, I'm here for them until we can get another resource to take them to. They're like my children when they get here. The workload is intense, and the food for them is expensive. My work is free, but I need some things for the disabled ducks to live their best life and for all the meds I may need. I can't afford to do everything on my own. I've had some angels bring me food and hay and other things to help. Their food goes quickly though. And I need some new fencing to ensure their safety and some new vinyl houses. I've been doing this on my own for 6 years, since 2018. I research the items I need to get the best deals on. I buy them mealworms and canned corn, frozen peas, bags of seed, cracked corn and pellets, and it crumbles, and spinach and arugula. Those are staples. I'm trying to get some baby swings for 3 that can't walk at all. I have 10 pools I have to clean and refill every 2-3 days. I also bring in around 6-8 ducks every night; they have special needs, and I don't want them outside unsupervised. So I take them out and bring them in every day. I'll fly them around the yard to say hey to everyone. And I'll bring in their friend/boyfriend or girlfriend a lot of times to be with them. So I have to wash sheets every 2 days. I buy the sheets half off from Goodwill to use, along with sleeping bags, small blankets, and pillowcases. I buy the pet pee pads too. Now, it would be nice if I had a well for the pools and laundry. I was thinking about doing that, but that's too much to spend, especially on a house that isn't mine.
We appreciate all of y'all that have donated in the past. We've had so many great outcomes from horrifying situations. The majority I rescue are rehabilitated and move on. But several are here to stay due to their extensive injuries. They need the love and attention that the cats and dogs receive. They have souls and personalities; their antics are great, hilarious actually. ❤️ They're awesome pets if you can handle the workload. I'm here for them, always will be. I just need some support for these things I've mentioned. I'm blessed with my new angel Lisa. And I'm part of a benefit program; every 3 months, I get something from them, which is so awesome. I just can't keep spending all my extra income. So ANYTHING helps. Thanks for your support, y'all.
Y'all are welcome to come by. You can check out my page for updates on the ducks. Contact me on Facebook if you have any duck needs. The Arc in St. Augustine will refer you to me regarding Muscovies in need of help. I also give advice to people regarding their own ducks. I'm not a vet, obviously, but I have tons of experience with all kinds of duck situations. Thanks again for helping the ducks of Jacksonville. We love you all for loving us. ❤️
