To know Jackson is to know what true love is. He is my 7-year-old son who is level 3 autistic and non verbal. Today the most traumatic thing happened to our boy. My husband was running out to the car across the street and didn’t realize Jack had slipped out behind him and ran across the street. He was struck by a car and thrown a few feet backwards. He was rushed by ambulance to Jefferson Torresdale hospital where catscan showed bleeding and swelling of the brain along with a fractured jaw and orbital bones. His vitals remained stable and they were able to transport him to CHOP via helicopter. He is still stable but in the PICU under sedation and ventilation to keep him calm and to reduce the brain swelling. At this point all we can do is wait for any further information and pray that he makes it through. Jackson is such a brave kid with the biggest heart. This is going to be a long way to recovery but we are all hopeful he will pull through. In the meantime we are going to have to take time off from work and travel back and forth to the hospital. We can’t even begin to imagine what is in store for the future with medical needs and care. Anything is appreciated but not necessary. Please just keep our baby and family in your prayers.
