Support Jackson's Fight Against ARPKD

Donation protected
My nephew, Jackson (Jax) Palmer, and my cousin and her husband, Taylor and David Palmer have recently shown incredible strength, resilience, and hope while faced with the most unimaginable situation for a family. As many of you know, Taylor and David’s son, Jackson, was fighting for his life between Taylor's second trimester and the first few months of his life. Before he was born, Jax struggled with maintaining healthy amniotic fluid levels, requiring Taylor to stop working, undergo two procedures, and stay at Lutheran General Hospital for 8 weeks under the care of high-risk doctors. The doctors weren’t completely sure why Jax’s amniotic fluid kept decreasing until he was born on December 8th, 2023.
After Jackson was born, he was diagnosed with Autosomal Recessive Polycystic Disease (APRKD). ARPKD occurs in 1 in 25,000 babies, and about 30% of those babies will die within their first week of life. After his diagnosis, Jax proved to be a fighter and a true miracle baby! He was in the NICU for 3 months and surprised the medical staff every day with his strength. He was recently discharged on March 21, 2024 and visits the hospital several times a month. Jax will need lifelong medical care. Eventually, he will experience kidney failure which requires a kidney transplant. Once Jackson is closer to failure, his parents will begin the search for a match.
I am posting this to support the Palmer family with their many medical bills. Jackson and Taylor experienced over 5 months in the hospital, and during this time, acquired numerous bills amounting to $23,000. On top of the expense of their extended stay, Jax is a frequent hospital visitor and continues to fight this rare disease through different surgeries and procedures. While continuing to persevere through these challenging times, the Palmer family could use any support to help alleviate the massive burden these medical bills will amount to.
Thank you so much for reading Jackson’s story! If you are unable to donate at this time, please pass along his story to others, and keep the Palmers in your thoughts and prayers.
