Support Jackson Shay’s Long Road to Recovery

Hi everyone,

My name is Ben and I’m reaching out for support after a life-changing motorcycle accident for one of my closest friends Jackson Shay

Recently, he was involved in a hit and run crash that left him in the street where the police found him, he was a coma for 10 days. He’s been in the hospital for 45 days and counting fighting to recover, and is incredibly grateful and lucky to be alive. It’s going to be a long and difficult journey, as he has to re-learn to walk, and simple day to day tasks

He has 25 broken bones including both femurs, both lower legs, ribs and a shattered pelvis. His liver and bladder are both lacerated and will need future operations to repair, but he has to heal from the previous 7 surgeries he’s already had before having surgery to repair them.

He works at Trader Joe’s, but not even the doctors know if and when he’ll be able to go back to work. Between medical bills, ongoing treatment, and everyday living expenses, things have quickly become overwhelming.

We’re asking for any help of
any amount, and no matter how small, everything truly makes a big difference. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page would mean just as much.

Thank you for taking the time to read his story and for any support you can give. He’s focused on healing and taking things one day at a time.

With gratitude, Ben Sleman
