On March 21, 2025, my son Jackson (20yo) and daughter Avery (17) lost their house and belongings to a fire at their dad’s house in Richmond, RI. Jackson climbed back into the burning house multiple times to rescue their two cats and their dad from the fully engulfed house, called 911, and moved their vehicles (with cats safely inside) away from the house.

Unfortunately, they lost their possessions and their home. Jackson has secured his first solo living space this summer, and while I’ve been able to help him with basic clothes, toiletries, and other things, I’m reaching out to our community for help. He has been hesitant to accept help, but replacing everything is both impossible and expensive, and I’m hoping we can give him (and Avery, who lost mainly sentimental items) a little boost up.
