Jack is a 21-year-old who recently suffered a serious accident, breaking his leg and ankle in two places. After spending time in the hospital, he is now recovering at home, but the journey has been challenging for both him and our family. Jack lives in a basement apartment, which makes it difficult for him to get outside, especially since his injuries require him to avoid putting any weight on his leg. In the first few weeks, he needed help with grocery shopping and getting around, and even now, he still relies on assistance to carry his scooter and groceries up and down the stairs.


Jack’s injuries have made it impossible for him to work, and he’s unable to participate in the activities that his friends enjoy. He has no insurance, which has made the medical costs—including hospital bills, surgery, and ongoing therapy—even more overwhelming. Jack has missed seeing everyone at work, both new and regular customers, and he’s super excited to get back as soon as he’s able. Despite these setbacks, Jack has kept a positive attitude and is working hard in physical therapy to aid his recovery. The road has been long, and the expenses have added up quickly.
