On Christmas day, Jack had a bad fall. He was taken to the ER and then admitted up into ICU with a badly broken rib, punctured lung and increasing Subcutaneous Emphysema in which air is getting trapped between the skin and soft tissue all over his body. Jacks right lung continues to fail all tests as they can not get it to inflate completely or seal the leaking areas, leaving him feeling exhausted, overwhelmed and defeated. After having two chest tubes in different locations, it seems undergoing surgery may be the only remaining course of action for healing and recovery. Even surgery means several very tough weeks ahead for him...
If know Jack... sitting in this hospital bed just isn't who he his. We are humbly asking during this time, if you are able to donate, or even share this page to others that might be able to help cover the mounting cost being out of work for what looks like the better part of january (Like upcoming car payments, fuel for traveling to and from hospital, pizza for our kids who wait patiently all day with no answers), please do so.
It takes courage and strength to face such obstacles head-on, and while there are times Jack shows that "cant keep me down" courage, he is understandably apprehensive.
One good outcome from this is that Jack has made it through 7 days now without craving a cigarette and plans to continue his journey to not smoking when he is finally released possibly towards the second week in January.
We appreciate you, maybe light an extra firework for him, Send up a prayer... Thank you friends.
