Hello— I don’t usually ask for help like this, but I really need some support.

My cat Jack is 3 years old, and he’s the sweetest boy ever. Over the past several months, he’s faced severe urinary issues, including repeated UTIs, crystal blockages, and a life-saving PU surgery — a procedure that widens his urethra so he can urinate without getting blocked again.

Before that surgery, I took Jack to an emergency vet in Tijuana (Dr. Zoo). Unfortunately, after multiple visits, his condition worsened. He was hospitalized for nearly two weeks, only to be returned to me with a severely infected urethral tear and another blockage — an injury that was never disclosed to me. The care he received caused additional stress, which made his condition even worse.

Because of this, I had to rush him to a San Diego specialty hospital, where he was treated for the blockage and prepared for surgery. At that point, his kidney levels were dangerously low. The surgeon identified the urethral tear and explained that it made the PU surgery significantly more complicated and expensive. I was even asked if I wanted to proceed with surgery or consider euthanasia — which was never an option for me. The owner of Dr. Zoo only offered $400 in compensation, despite the severity of what happened.

The total cost of Jack’s emergency care and surgery exceeded $15,000. CareCredit helped with $6,000, but I’m still left with around $9,000 in debt. I don’t expect help for all of the cost, but the goal of this is to help cover a portion of that debt and support his ongoing medical care, including medications, a special diet, and routine vet visits. Every donation, no matter the size, makes a huge difference in keeping Jack stable, healthy, and pain-free.

Jack will likely deal with urinary issues for the rest of his life. He is now on daily Prozac, gabapentin, recurring antibiotics when needed, and a prescription urinary diet — all necessary to keep him stable and pain-free.

Any support — whether a donation or sharing this — means the world. Even if we don’t reach the full debt amount, your help will directly improve Jack’s quality of life. He’s my family, and I’m doing everything I can to give him the life he deserves.
