As many of you know, my oldest had his first seizure recently, and while I was busy caring and worrying about him and some other life changes and stress, I also ended up sick. On Monday, 4/7/2025, I woke up with right-sided weakness, numbness, tingling, and vision loss. On 4/11/2025, the day after Bryson's EEG and my 42nd birthday, I checked myself into the ER. I was referred to a neurologist that I saw on 04/17/2025, with his urgency to be admitted to the hospital for immediate care.

I waited to let the boys have a good Easter, drove myself to UH Downtown Easter Sunday night, and spent 11 days in the hospital from 4/20/2025 to 5/1/2025 with multiple tests, 5 days of intensive Prednisone IV therapy, and 5 more days of apheresis plasma transfer. I have demyelination on areas of my brain, a predominate area by my right optic nerve and spine. I have been diagnosed with MS and an optic condition called MOGAD which has impaired my vision in both eyes but is affecting my right eye more, I also continue to have right sided numbness, tingling and heaviness.

The photos I’m sharing are of me on days I tried to be positive when I had no answers, the plasma machine that exchanged out my albumin, blood, protein and plasma based on daily blood work and a photo with the boys the first time I got to see them after 11 days of not being able to.

I don’t know what my future is at this point; I have mounds of medical bills and am on partial disability, but medical bills and general life bills continue. This is a humbling experience, and I am one that never asks for help unless I really need it. I have always tried to be independent and do things on my own to not burden others, but sometimes we all need some help.

If you are able to donate in any way, it would be much appreciated. The money will go towards rent, bills, groceries, and the continued medical costs as I continue treatment. If you are unable to donate, times are tough for everyone. Please feel free to send good vibes, thoughts, and prayers; they are also much appreciated. I’m trying to get used to a new way of seeing and moving my body, and I’m hopeful some of my vision will return with the continued medications I’m on and follow-up. If you are unsure about using GoFundMe, you can always reach out to me directly if you’d like to donate another way.

Thank you for reaching out, checking in, and supporting me through this tough time.
