Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Strangers,
My name is Bryan Sorto-Guzman, and I’m reaching out to share a story that is very close to my heart. Two years ago, while volunteering in Uganda, I met a remarkable young man named Martin Nsubuga. We were both volunteering in a small rural village called Kalangaro, located in the Mukono District of Central Uganda. Over the course of six weeks, we worked together with a skateboarding organization, and during that time, I got to know Martin and his family.
Martin’s mother was an extraordinary woman. She had opened her heart and home to Jackie, an orphan she had taken in and cared for as her own. Jackie quickly became part of their family, and it was clear how much love and hope she brought into their lives.
Tragically, Martin’s mother passed away on June 6, 2024. Since then, Martin and I have been doing everything we can to support Jackie, but the reality is that my own financial situation makes it difficult to provide the help she truly needs.
More than anything, Martin and I want to ensure that Jackie has the opportunity to go to school. Education is a lifeline—it’s a chance for Jackie to build a future filled with possibilities, just as Martin’s mother would have wanted. That’s why we’ve started this GoFundMe campaign.
Our goal is to raise $2,400 to cover Jackie’s school fees, supplies, and other essential needs. Every dollar donated will go directly toward giving Jackie the education she deserves and the future her adoptive mother dreamed of for her. If you’re able to contribute, no amount is too small. Your generosity will make a lasting impact on Jackie’s life. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this campaign with your network would mean the world to us. Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for considering supporting Jackie. Together, we can honor the memory of Martin’s mother and give Jackie the chance to thrive. With heartfelt gratitude, Bryan Sorto-Guzman and Martin Nsubuga
