My Husband Jackie Myrick was diagnosed in 2017 with Ocular Melanoma Which led to him having his eye being removed. That surgery was a partial eye removal. Then in 2018 he had to have a full removal. Past years has been good. About 6 months ago he started getting headaches but was able to control them. On Feb 1, this year he went to work lasted about an hr there then went to Brunswick Hospital because of his head hurting so bad.. They did a CT and found a golf ball size mass in his forehead. They sent us to Emory in Atlanta. We got to Atlanta Sunday on the 3rd. 4th they did testing and scans, 5th got results back. He had another mass behind his no eye lid. And the golf ball mass. On the 6th he had a Craniotomy. They got most of his tumors but the one that was in his forehead was growing on his right optic nerve so they wasnt able to get it all just because they didnt want to make him blind completely. Though he came out of the surgery and we are so very grateful. He still has a long road ahead. He will be out of work for a while and we need a little help with bills, groceies, ect.. Jackie is still in Atlanta and not quite sure of a discharge date. His pain levels are still extremely high and now they are thinking the specks(Dr words) is what is causing his pain. so now the plan is to start radiation here then transfer to Waycross to finish. His Cancer is extremely rare. There are only 10 drs worldwide that work with OM patients. And only 4 in the states.
