Support Jackie and Ava's Recovery Journey

My name is Laura McCarthy. I am Jackie’s mom and Ava’s grandmother. They were both involved in a serious car accident in Hillsborough, New Hampshire, on November 19th. As I am writing this, I’m sitting next to Ava at Boston Children’s Hospital, and her mom is at home in New Hampshire with four broken vertebrae in her back and a shattered foot. Ava is here at Boston Children’s with a head trauma.

My daughter is a single mom and works her butt off at Concord Hospital, working nights as an LNA and going to school to become an RN. I am extremely proud of the steps she has made in her life. As a single mom and with rents as high as they are, she struggles to keep up with everything. This is going to set her back quite a bit. She does have some paid time off coming to her, but not nearly enough to cover how long she’s going to be out of work. They both have a long road of recovery ahead and any help at all will be greatly appreciated. God Bless
