Support Jack Phillips' Battle Against Cancer

My name is Sue Gray and I am raising funds for my best friend's husband and his cancer treatment. Jack Phillips is a well known and loved small business owner in Deshler, Ohio. He has been building and repairing homes and businesses in Southern Wood County for over 27 years. He is a skilled electrician, plumber and HVAC specialist. After donating a tremendous amount of skills and labor to his community, he has come to need their support.

Jack has recently been diagnosed with stage 3 Multiple Myeloma. This is a form of blood cancer that will require intensive and very expensive treatment to bring him into remission. Once in remission, he will face expensive maintenance drugs and therapies for the remainder of his life. This fight will cost him the ability to earn an income while he battles. It is his hope and intention to return to full time work once he is in remission and has completed the recommended stem cell transplants.

After building their log home by hand with his wife Jane, the biggest concern they face is their ability to live in and return to the home, job and lives they had before the intrusion of cancer into their world.

Jack has adult children and two wonderful granddaughters cheering on his fight. He desperately wants to continue the best part of his life, that of being Papa to Ava and Cali. As the breadwinner of his home, the humbling experience of being unable to provide for the financial needs of his family is devastating.

This request for assistance will be used for the purposes of medical treatments and daily living expenses as well as transportation and housing for the stem cell transplants that he needs.
