Support Jack of the Wood Staff After Hurricane Helene
Donation protected
The devastation from Hurricane Helene that has hit our community is something we couldn't have imagined in our wildest dreams. We are all heart broken in Appalachia. Jack of the Wood opened in Asheville 27 years ago, and is a beloved gathering place for local Appalachian musicians, where friends have become family, and so much more. If you know Jack of the Wood, you know many of the people who have worked for us for years. They are the heart and soul of the pub.
Our community is strong and we love it and will support it in anyway we can as we help each other and those far less fortunate than us. Our building is fine, our staff is all fine and we are luckier than many. However our city suffered major damage to the water lines and we don't have a timeline as to when repairs will be done, which means are doors will be closed for the foreseeable future. I'm sure you can imagine the financial obstacles this presents. We love our staff and we've been feeding them and giving them any supplies we have on hand for the past week but they will need more financial help than this small business can offer, since most of our resources have already been exhausted by financial obligations incurred before Helene. Many of them have used personal funds to buy supplies, help the community and do wellness checks, etc. If you love Jack of the Wood, and the folks who make it so special, and have a little to spare, all proceeds will be tremendously helpful for the Jack of the Wood team as we get through this.
We love you. We can't wait to listen to some bluegrass and have a pint with you again, one day.
