Hi there! My name is Jack Niccol, a Los Angeles-born filmmaker based in New York City. I plan to finance my thesis film at NYU, Salvation, a short film about Will, an 18-year-old who has to save his indisposed father, who is suffering from a hypoglycemic diabetic coma at a deserted park. This is a story about the significance of self-preservation and maintaining quality mental health for those who are in relationships, whether they be with family, romantic, or platonic relationships. These require dedication and hard work to satisfy both participants.
I want to use this film not just as my own capstone project as a student, but also as a personal catharsis for myself as a filmmaker and a person, and for those out there in the world who might be feeling a similar way.
However, I can not do this without your support. With your donations, it will go towards securing our location permits for where the majority of the film will be taking place, transportation for our cast, crew, and equipment, our equipment rentals, food, production design, post-production, and submissions to film festivals. Whatever contribution you make to our project, big or small, know that it is going towards a story that should be discussed more in our day. Thank you so much!
