Help support Jack Morgan's funeral costs
Donation protected
On Sunday August 11th, 2024 our dad, Jack Morgan came home from a family fishing trip and felt unwell. Within minutes he was having trouble breathing and was rushed to the nearest fire department where he collapsed from a massive heart attack. He was rushed by ambulance to the hospital where he underwent emergency surgery to remove blockages. He died 5 times and was resuscitated. When he was finally brought to ICU is when we found out all 3 arteries had been 100 percent blocked and they only gave him a 10% chance of making it through that night. He was placed on life support and in critical condition. They transfered him to Virginia Mason hospital in Seattle where he was placed on echmo and is still on life support but slowly improving.
By the grace of God and many answered prayers he has overcome all odds and is showing that he is fighting every day to get better. He is still on life support and is being slowly weaned off of things but it is a long road ahead. He was the sole provider for his family and our mom, Christine, has not left his side. It will be weeks if not months of recovery and it's starting to add up quickly. We are asking for donations to help our mom be able to stay there with him during this time. This will help with hotel stays and warm meals as well as travel costs and medical bills that are adding up. Please consider helping our dad on his long road to recovery, anything helps and is so greatly appreciated at this time for our family.
Update: Our family has appreciated all the love and support we have received. We wanted to give an update on our dad. On 8-23 we got a final update on his progress and while his heart function is getting better, the rest of his organs have not made any progress. He woke up for 24 hours but hasn't since a week ago and has shown signs of severe brain damage. He cannot breath on his own and his liver and kidneys are not functioning. We gathered together with our mom that evening and decided that it was time to let his body rest and remove him from life support as we know he would not want to live in this state. We again have appreciated everyone's support as we have moved through this difficult time and appreciate continued support. We are now going to use funds towards funeral costs and supporting my mom financially through this transition until things are finalized. Our dad was a veteran and we will be honoring him with a a service including military funeral honors. The service date is not set as of yet. Financial help is very much appreciated for services but If you are unable to donate we would love for you to keep our family in your thoughts and prayers as this is a very difficult time and decision we have all had to make. Thankyou again for everyone's outpouring of support for our family, it has truly meant so much.
