As many of you know, just one week after marrying his best friend, Jack faced an unimaginable crisis. What they thought was the flu ended up to be severe sepsis and he was immediately admitted in the ICU in Charleston It was touch and go for days, leaving Jack unconscious, receiving at least 8 transfusions—and a very uncertain prognosis. But as only Jack Deere can do, he is beating all odds little by little. First he woke up, unable to speak but able to follow things with his eyes. As of a few days ago he already had 8 transfusions and every day there is miraculous progress. He can now speak and even feed himself however, This will be a very long haul for his recovery.

As Jack begins the long road to healing, the financial strain is overwhelming. The medical bills are already piling up, and Wendy is staying in a nearby hotel to be close to Jack while also keeping up with their home expenses.
