Hello to my family and friends. My husband, Jack, was diagnosed in October with lung cancer. He started chemo and radiation the week of Christmas. A couple of drug complications landed him in the hospital. The doctor found blockages in his arteries and installed two stents. He seemed better for a few days but became very pale two weeks ago and started waking up with chest and arm pain daily. His blood pressure runs low and then jumps up. Anxiety over the pains and the bills wakes him at 2 in the morning. Even with Medicare, the 20% co-pay along with household repairs, including septic issues and a required new water heater by the insurance company, and me missing work to go with him to appointments has us scrambling already.
Jack was having chest pains again last week. Back to the ER, they found he had pneumonia and RSV. We then found out he had COPD as well. After a week in the hospital, we came home with Hospice. Jack decided that he didn’t feel up to chemo and radiation anymore.
I want and need to stay home with Jack and have taken a leave of absence from work and applied for Social Security and Medicare for myself.
Jack is already on Social Security and Medicare. I have filed for Medicaid and am looking for other assistance programs in our area.
Any donations would be appreciated and we especially covet your prayers. We know that GOD is good and has helped us already.
Love and prayers to all. Jack and Debra.
