Jacie and Marc had a love story out of a hollywood movie, as the girl next door Marc took an interest as soon as she moved into the Long Beach apartment next to his. Quickly falling in love and moving in together they created a bond that was unbreakable.

Over the last five years Jacie and Marc went on countless adventures and overcame the seemingly endless hurdles in life, being there for each other in the best of times and the worst of times. From being in Zion taking in the beauty of their surroundings and each other to losing loved ones and comforting each other in those difficult times. Countless days on the baseball field where Marc coached and mentored a children's travel baseball team. Accompanying each other to parties where you could almost always find them on the dance floor, or engaging in conversations with friends and strangers alike making sure everyone was having as good of time as they are. Marc always made sure every person he encountered felt seen and heard, he had a real reverent ability to do this.

On Thursday August 21st in Pico Rivera tragedy hit. Only this time Jacie would be left without her best friend and love of her life. Marc was shot and killed at the gas station in a random act of violence on his way home from work, where he has been a staple in the family run business taking care of adults who are mentally disabled. The loss of Marc has left a gaping hole in the heart of everyone who had the pleasure of striking up a conversation with him. The world is darker now that his light has gone out, he truly was an extraordinary man with the biggest heart you can imagine.

We are all at a loss of words, feeling helpless and hopeless being left without our brother, friend, partner and coach. But no one is feeling this pain more than his soon to be fiance Jacie. He had told us last week his plans on proposing as soon as he found the perfect ring, he had just asked her father for the honor of his daughters hand. In this time of grieving, Jacie who works as a massage therapist could use a little help as you can imagine there is no way for her to return to work in these terrible times. Marc handled most of the major bills and since they were not yet married Jacie does not have access to those accounts.
