****Update 8/21/24****
From Jaces mother :

Hello everyone I hope everyone has enjoyed their summer I know Jace has he’s been very busy with friends and family lots of swimming fishing going to his beloved mud runs boating and tubing. I would like to share an update on Jaces health. I received a call this week with the results of his final PET scan (so we thought) unfortunately Jace is no longer in remission the cancer has come back in a completely different place. This time it’s right next to his trachea. In the middle of his chest. We are in complete shock with this news seeing as 3 months ago the cancer was all cleared up and I was told he had about a 2% chance of it coming back. The Drs are saying they want to be more aggressive with treatment this time around. We will start with more chemotherapy and then add radiation then after that we will be sent to Boston to have healthy cells injected into his bone marrow. I know there are a lot of people following this and are saddened by this news. We ask you to keep praying for this amazingly strong young man of mine while we continue with his cancer battle. He’s still very positive his exact words were “it’s ok mom, I beat this once I will beat it again” I admire his strength and positivity immensely. Thank you all for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers
****Update 2/13/24****
Before I write anything else I want to reiterate that Jace is not enjoying attention regarding his illness, so please if you are sharing with your children, let them know that he doesn't want to talk about it at school, he wants as much normalcy as possible <3
As for the medical update- Jessica, Jaces mother was informed this week that his cancer is stage 3. It has spread to his spleen, neck, his armpits, stomach, and chest, as well as his bone marrow. Unfortunately he will have to undergo adult doses of chemo for a total of 6 months, which will start this week or possibly next. He had a port installed last week. This fund is helping immensely with financial strain of travel, and this family is just so grateful and overwhelmed by the generosity of this community.
Thank you so much for sharing and donating, it really means so much to this family!

my name is Eva and I am raising money for the Family of Jace Gay. Jace is a 12 year old 6th grader at Portsmouth Middle School, and has been diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma. He will need chemo treatments, and this is just the beginning of his ordeal. His mother Jessica has been driving him back and forth to Dartmouth Hitchcock in Lebanon for appointments and treatments, and this will help fund the gas money and lack of ability to work while she cares for Jace and his condition. This is a nightmare for any family caring for a child, and I am hoping to help her by organizing this gofundme to give some sense of financial security during this extremely difficult time. Anything you can share will help. If you are a parent of a classmate of Jace's - he has shared that he wants to "be treated just like normal" by his friends. <3
this money will be used for financial security in this time that Jessica can not work, for gas to and from the hospital and for chemo treatments, and food etc when cooking is just too much.
