Hey everyone! My name is Izzy. Most call me busy Izzy. First and foremost God comes first and the rest follows. My heart is in Shimsan Taekwondo and Horse riding. I started young with horses but NMAA (national martial arts alliance) started only a few months ago. My mother saw an add on Facebook stating to bring your child in for a four day free trial to see if it would be a good fit. Boom! I just knew it. I earned my white belt in four days and immediately tested for orange belt. I’ve continued to work hard to perfect my discipline. I went to regionals in March where I placed gold in both weapons and form. I’ve since qualified for state championships in June in NC. This is a big deal for me. Just yesterday April 24th I again tested and moved up to my yellow belt. My Shimsan Master has believed in me from the beginning and couldn’t believe I’d never done this before. When I’m doing martial arts my mind is clear and focused.

I conquered state and I’m thankful for all who helped support me through my journey! I places third in state in my weapons! I’ve since moved up to green belt and test end of month for purple. Im a qualifier for Nationals and will be attending in October as a member of the TKD competitive team!

I also have an opportunity to fly to Denver to meet the Master who began Shimsan and take his class as well as perform in the colored belt arena next year 2026. I understand times are hard.
