Support Izzy’s Journey to Reunite in Scotland

Hello, my name is Izzy and my partner is Ethan. We've been together for three years. We met in class at NC State and said "I love you" for the first time on OIB, so truly an NC love story. We've lived with our two cats, Pumpkin and Gaea, in Raleigh until recently.

Ethan got the incredible opportunity to pursue his PhD in Scotland and moved to Edinburgh in September 2024. His research landed him funding, meaning most of his expenses for his move were covered.

I hope to join Ethan in Edinburgh as soon as I can, so that we can start this next chapter together. Living together for multiple years and then going long distance isn't ideal for either of us. I am aiming for mid-February of 2025, but sadly it will come down to the money. While I have been saving, working a full-time job, and just picked up a part-time job, it's still going to be hard to save enough. The visa application and health charge alone will cost me about $5,000. Due to the visa route I'm choosing, I'll also have to have additional money in savings to prove I can support myself in the UK.
