Support Izaak and his fight!

Hi, my name is Melissa and I am the aunt to one strong and courageous 17-year-old, Izaak. A few months ago his battle started with rashes that seemed benign, until recently. He has been diagnosed with a rare disorder called Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis (GPA), which is a form of vasculitis that causes inflammation of the blood vessels and can restrict blood flow to vital organs and tissues. After a CT scan of his chest and head he was admitted to UCD for further testing and to rule out Tuberculosis as they found a lesion on his lung. He has been in the hospital for about a week now with no discharge date in site. There have been other findings since his admission, although it seems they have decided on a treatment plan. Izaak has been a trouper throughout this ordeal and has kept him out of school since September of this year due to wounds on his body from the disease. My sister Erin has been at his bedside throughout this all, only leaving to work and shower and this has also taken a toll on her little family. She would never ask for help and is struggling to put food on the table and pay her bills as a single mother of two and the primary emotional support for her son. I am hoping that if everyone would pitch in a little bit it would help to ease her mind and allow her more time to spend with Izaak and help him come out on top!
