Ivy is our first ever family pet. She is only 4 years old. She loves to play, go outside, talk to birds, and eat her favorite treats.
On the night of a sudden power outage, Ivy started sneezing out blood. We quickly took her to the emergency vet and initially, it was thought to be an infection in her gums. A couple of weeks later, Ivy got her left fang removed. The vet said the only thing keeping her fang in place was her inflamed gums. After further examinations and x-rays, it turned out she had cancer.
Ivy has been diagnosed with a rare, life-threatening form of cancer called Chondrosarcoma. It’s an extremely invasive tumor that destroys bone structure and replaces it with cancer cells. Ivy has this cancer in her nasal passage, which could possibly spread into her lungs. Already, she can no longer breathe properly out of one side of her nose and constantly has bloody nasal discharge. The tumor is growing in size day after day, which means she’s in constant pain.
We want to prolong Ivy’s life as much as we can since she’s so young. Getting her radiation treatment is the best course of action as its success rate, if caught early, is 90%-100%. We would be able to heavily minimize her tumor so that her quality of life can significantly improve. As of now, she would not be able to last more than a year if not treated quickly enough. Fortunately, with radiation treatment, she can live many more playful, happy years.
Treatments, medication, and appointment costs are quickly adding up and regrettably, our family cannot afford it. Radiation treatments alone could be up to $10K-$16K depending on which one is best suited for Ivy’s needs. Our starting goal is small, but any type of donation or love for Ivy will be heavily appreciated by us, and especially her.
Our family loves Ivy too much to let her go so soon, and it breaks our hearts that we have to see the baby kitten we saw grow up get struck with a death sentence. Please help Ivy be cancer-free.
