Support Ivy Financially on Her Healing Journey and Recovery
Ivy underwent serious emergency abdominal surgery on Thursday, September 19th and is still in the hospital.
It had been an unexpected and very rough weekend for her. Wednesday night she started feeling severe stomach pains and the nurse line told her to take Pepto Bismol and wait it out. By Thursday morning it was unbearable, so she called an ambulance to take her to a nearby hospital. There they did a CAT scan and discovered that her intestines were all tangled up and had a perforation leading to water filling her abdomen. The doctor said they could not perform the surgery she needed there and had her transported to emergency surgery at Park West. The doctor there hoped to be able to do everything laparoscopic, but discovered further issues which made the surgery take a bit longer and caused him to have to make a sizable incision in her abdomen. All turned out fine, but her doctor said that her road to recovery will be quite long.
Since her current job position doesn't include any type of PTO, this setback is going to put a huge financial burden on her and her kids as she will be unable to meet her many bills including but not limited to her rent and utilities, not to mention any unexpected medical bills her insurance may not cover.
I have set the donation minimum to $2,500 because I know from talking with her that is the least she’ll be under considering her income loss. But any and all donations are appreciated as the financial impact of this may far exceed that.
We're hoping they'll release her from the hospital tomorrow, and from what they've said they expect her to be out of work for another week. So we would appreciate any and all help you can give. Please also share this fundraiser with everyone you know. The direct link is below. Thanks in advance. She sends much love to all of you.
