Support Ivy Norsen's Fight Against ADEM

Hello family & friends. I am starting this fundraiser on behalf of the Norsen family. Michelle Norsen is a very close friend & co-worker. They have been hit pretty hard the past month. Their 5 year old daughter Ivy is currently battling ADEM (Acute disseminated encephalomyelitis) which is rare autoimmune disease that causes inflammation to the brain. She began having headaches almost everyday in the past month. She was tired and lethargic all the time, just not herself. After several visits to the pediatrician and many tests, everything came back normal.

Michelle & Josh weren’t sure how to proceed forward with some days being better than others. All of this while the family was grieving the loss of Josh's mother, Ivy's Nana. They had just come back from the funeral and Ivy was not getting better. It was unclear if her headaches were also being triggered by her crying from missing her Nana.

Last Tuesday on her way to school, Ivy’s legs started giving out. Her dad took her to Thedacare Emergency in Neenah. They took blood, X-rays, & a CT scan where they discovered something causing swelling in her brain. She was then transported via helicopter to Childrens Wisconsin in Milwaukee that same night. She underwent surgery and they have been draining the excess fluid in her brain. She is currently undergoing treatment. There’s still a ways to go for recovery.

As a parent, all of the events that have taken place are terrifying and heartbreaking. Please consider donating. Any amount will be appreciated. There will be many medical bills coming their way. Michelle will be off of work for most of the month of June as she’s with Ivy in Milwaukee during her treatment.

Please keep Ivy in your thoughts & prayers. She is a sweet wonderful little girl. She’s definitely a fighter, I know she will pull through. We can’t wait to see her fully recovered and running around with her sister Lily and her best friend Alan.
