Meet Ivy: the fluffiest, snackiest, and most determined burro on this side of the Rockies.
Ivy lives at Far View Horse Rescue and Rehabilitation Center — a beautiful sanctuary where rescued horses, ponies, burros, and other animals find safety, love, and a second chance at life. Thanks to an incredible team of volunteers and generous donors, Ivy and her friends get the food, care, and space they need to heal and thrive.
Rescued three years ago outside Hartsel, Colorado, Ivy has since become a beloved part of the Far View family. This July, Ivy and I are teaming up to tackle the legendary Burro Days Race in Fairplay, Colorado!
Burro racing is a wild, high-altitude adventure where humans and their burro teammates run side-by-side — honoring the historic bond between Colorado miners and their trusty pack burros. During the race, Ivy and I will work together to navigate 15 miles of rugged mountain trails, fueled by stubborn determination, questionable pacing decisions, and plenty of snack breaks.
We’re training hard to show off Ivy’s incredible spirit and to raise support for her home and herd.
Every dollar donated helps feed Ivy, keep her healthy, support her rescue friends, and ensure Far View can keep doing their incredible work.
Ivy and I appreciate any help you’re willing to give — whether that's a donation, a cheer, or a mental carrot sent our way. Thank you for being part of our team!
