Ivory and Nick were eagerly preparing to welcome their baby girl and celebrate with loved ones at their baby shower. But within just a few days, their world was turned upside down.
While Ivory was visiting family in Wisconsin for her shower, Nick called with devastating news: a fire had destroyed half of their home in Massachusetts. In an instant, the place where they had built their life together, filled with memories, essentials, and belongings was gone.
As they were trying to process the loss, Ivory began experiencing severe swelling in her hands and was rushed to the hospital. She was diagnosed with severe preeclampsia, a dangerous pregnancy complication, and blood pressure of over 200/107 and must remain hospitalized until she delivers at 35 weeks. After birth, their baby girl will need to spend up to a month in the NICU.
This has been especially heartbreaking for us as a family. Ivory is my daughter, and she and Nick have been together for nearly ten years. They first met while serving in the military, and since then they’ve built a life grounded in love, resilience, and service. Seeing them face so many hardships at once has been incredibly difficult.
The emotional and financial strain of losing their home, navigating a medical emergency, and preparing for a premature baby has been overwhelming for this young family.
Our family is deeply grateful for every act of kindness during this incredibly difficult time.
Donations are greatly appreciated as they prepare for their daughter’s arrival far from home. With everything lost and their baby coming early, every contribution truly makes a difference.
For those who prefer to give through another way Ivory’s Venmo is @Ivory322.
Thank you for your generosity, compassion, and support as Ivory and Nick work to rebuild and focus on welcoming their little one safely into the world.
