Talofa lava, my name is Michelle, the second eldest child of Iva, a beloved mother of five, grandmother of 17, and great-grandmother of 3.

After retiring from a lifelong career in the mental health sector, Mum began experiencing some concerning health changes. Recently, she underwent surgery to remove a large cyst from her abdomen. While initial results were reassuring, further testing identified a microscopic tumour, and she has since been diagnosed with Stage 3 mucinous ovarian cancer.

I am walking alongside Mum, with the support of my siblings, as she considers her options and makes decisions about her care. She is open to exploring different ways to support her wellbeing alongside her medical journey.

There is a 14-day wellness retreat on the 3rd-17th of May 2026 at the Misty Mountain Retreat Centre in NSW to provide her with time to rest and focus on her health in a peaceful, well-supported holistic healing environment. I will have the opportunity to go alongside Mum to support her during this time, so the funds raised would help cover both her costs and one support person.

Below is a breakdown of the estimated costs:

Retreat fees for 2 people, 11700 (includes full accomodation for 15 days, Gourmet Vegan GF Meals, Vegetable and Fruit Juices, Personal Supplement Plan, Herbal Teas, Daily steam baths, exercise sessions, and lifestyle education sessions. Plus other treatments and lifestyle planning sessions.)

Flights for Mum from Rotorua-Auckland-Gold Coast and return: $500

Transport to and from the GC Airport to the Retreat $300
