Support Ivan Thompson’s Recovery and Rehabilitation

Dear Friends and Community,

We are reaching out to you with heavy hearts and a sincere consideration for support. On 7/5, Ivan was involved in a severe car accident. Ivan was T-boned on the drivers side by another driver who fled the scene immediately, likely due to his active warrants and lack of insurance. Unfortunately, leaving Ivan and Debbie to carry the financial burden.

Ivan was transported to Lebanon Hospital where they discovered he sustained serious injuries. He needed an emergency splenectomy to stop the internal bleeding. In addition, Ivan has several broken ribs, a broken sacrum, pelvis, tibia and broken bones in his foot. After his splenectomy, he remained intubated and he was life flighted to Emanuel Legacy Hospital in Portland to receive the care he needs. We are hoping he is there for a week and then moved into a rehab facility closer to home where he will face several months of physical therapy to regain his strength.

With Ivan being out of work for the foreseeable future recovering, and no help from the at fault drivers insurance, the medical bills and transportation are piling up quickly. Additionally, his vehicle was totaled in the accident, adding to the financial burden during this challenging time.

We are setting up this GoFundMe campaign to help Ivan cover his medical expenses, rehabilitation costs, and other essential needs while he focuses on healing. Ivan is the most selfless, caring, kind and loving man you will ever encounter and this small gesture will mean the world to the Thompson family.
