Support Ivan Urbina's
Donation protected
We are currently requesting our beloved community to help support Ivan Urbina’s recovery and his mom Paulette Turner.
On Monday, November 13th at around 7p, Ivan was heading home from visiting his mom and sister and picking up his medication when he was hit by a car on Hesperian in San Leandro. He was rushed to Eden Medical Center where he has been since the accident.
As of now, Ivan has a long road to recovery; his neck had to be reattached to his shoulders and is being held together by a metal plate. His back is broken and it has been fused. AS OF NOW, he can’t feel anything below his belly button. But we are hopeful that with physical therapy and round-the-clock care, Ivan can overcome this physical setback.
Paulette has been by his side. But has no personal or sick time- she used this up last month when Ivan underwent treatment for a mass.
She’s tired, but clear that Ivan needs to be moved to another hospital to receive quality treatment. She is currently preparing to get him into a better facility— even if we have to pay for it.
The road ahead is long. We know that this is just the beginning. The difficult part will be the road to recovery after he leaves the hospital. We are seeking funds to pay for transportation to another hospital (without a ‘need’ to transfer, Paulette will have to pay), rehabilitation, and supporting Paulette as she will need to take days off to support Ivan.
We thank you in advance. No amount is too small.
