Hey everyone! I am currently taking donations for my new theatre piece “It’s Not the End of the World”, which will be premiering at The Vancouver Fringe Festival this September. This show is a big passion project for me and an exciting opportunity to direct my own original work and share it with a wide audience. As we have extremely limited funding, and a big team of artists, donations will make a big difference! All donations will go to paying the cast and creative team, and covering the expenses of props, costumes, set pieces, rehearsal space, venue fees, and marketing materials!
A little more about the show:
In the not-so-distant future, a woman struggles with infertility while the world around her seems to crumble. Meanwhile, a man can’t stop ordering packages to fill his empty apartment, two cockroaches meet up for happy hour, a bird tries to come to terms with being endangered, and a salesman gives the pitch of his life. “It’s Not the End of the World” is a new dark comedy piece using masks, puppetry, cardboard, music, spoken text, and captioning. Mixing child-like playfulness with moments of stark reality, it explores an uncertain future where people and animals must deal with the world passed down to them and prepare for what’s to come, finding hope and humour along the way. It asks, “In a rapidly changing world, what can we, and must we, hold onto?”
