Help Us Rebuild Italian Motors USA After Devastating Flooding in Sumas, WA
We are Italian Motors USA, a family-owned kart racing business with nearly 50 years of history. Our business has been devastated by a second major flood in just four years.
Italian Motors was founded in 1976 by Claudio and Beverley Valiante as a European auto repair shop. Over the decades, it grew into a respected parts supplier, car importer, and eventually a cornerstone of the karting community. What began as a family dream became a home for racing families across North America. Italian Motors has never been just about racing — it’s about family, community, and shared passion. From Claudio’s early racing days at Westwood to Michael and Claudia growing up at the track, this legacy is deeply personal to us and something we are incredibly proud of.
In 2011, we opened the Sumas International Motorsports Academy (SIMA), offering kart rentals, driver training, coaching, and a full racing track. Today, we are humbly asking for your support to help ensure the future of our family business.
On December 11th, 2025, catastrophic flooding swept through the area, causing extensive damage to our track, shop, and facilities. With more than four feet of water throughout the property, our showroom, shop, warehouse, outbuildings, equipment, machinery, and inventory were severely impacted. The future of our business is now at risk.
Rebuilding will not be easy, but it is possible with your help. Every donation — no matter the size — makes a meaningful difference.
Funds raised will go directly toward major renovations needed to resume operations and to replace damaged equipment, machinery, and inventory essential to our work.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for taking the time to support our family. We are deeply grateful and truly hope to welcome you back to Italian Motors in the near future.
