I met Issaya Mepukori on a recent safari trip to Tanzania. He was interning with the the safari company that we traveled with. I was very impressed by his knowledge of wildlife, birds, plants, and the history of the region. Issaya grew up in a very small Massai village which we visited and I had the pleasure of meeting his family.(photo of Issaya's mother, sister, and me). He told me he has dreamed of becoming a safari interpreter since he was very young.

Issaya has received scholarships to attend secondary school in order to achieve his dream, placing at the top of his classes. He is now in need of funding to attend the required driving training required before becoming a certified Safari Interpreter..

The funds raised will go directly toward driving school tuition, required training and certification fees, and transportation and related training expenses. This opportunity will allow Issaya to move from student to working guide—a major step toward long-term independence and success.
