Hello to everyone who loves Israel –
On February 18, 2026, Israel was diagnosed with leukemia. Leukemia is a cancer of the blood. Israel is also immunocompromised, which means that his immune system is very weak, and he must be in a sterile, controlled environment as he receives treatment.
Israel will be living at the hospital while he receives chemotherapy and all other medical treatment for the foreseeable future.
This fundraiser is to:
- Help offset Israel’s ongoing and increasing medical costs (this includes all chemotherapy treatments, a variety of ongoing lab tests, medications, medical device expenses, charges for specialized care from hematologists and oncologists, etc.)
- Finance all forms of therapy to help him stay connected with his body, rebuild his strength, feel grounded, keep his spirits lifted, reduce treatment-related side effects, and enhance his overall quality of life
- Acquire uplifting and comforting items to make his hospital room into a temporary home (within hospital limitations to keep him safe)
- Support his loved ones as they travel to visit him for weeks at a time, including expenses for all forms of transportation and related fees (flights, buses, rideshare, gas, parking), hotel and accommodations, meals, and items they will purchase for Israel as they identify his needs
The total amount needed is unkown (especially since the initial hospital bills from 2025 and 2026 have not been processed yet and there are going to be ongoing expenses for the foreseeable future), but miscellaneous costs have started to build up. This amount is our best estimate of costs and increasing/ongoing needs.
Israel is filled with so much love from the support he has received via family and friends. This is going to be a long battle, which we will help Israel overcome together. We love him and are here to aid in his fight to recovery and health.
