Hello, my name is Stefany Ramirez. I’m 18 years old, and I’m Israel Miranda’s daughter. We are a family from Mexico that came to the United States for a better future, and we are very hardworking people. My dad went through one of those things you don’t expect to happen to you. He’s a self-employed person, and while he was trying to do his job and pick up a glass window, he cut his hand, which is connected to the tendons and nerves, cutting absolutely everything. My dad is the most absolutely lovely dad ever. He loves his family and loves sports. He’s also an amazing friend, husband, and son. My dad is the most hardworking person in the world and did not deserve what happened to him. Imagine a person that is very active, loves working, and loves waking up at 6 am to go to the gym always, and every Sunday goes to play volleyball with friends. Then, just for one single mistake, not being able to do any of that normally ever again because a person that had a 90% possibility of losing his hand won’t ever recover it again to 100%. Have you ever been in the position of having a 95% chance of losing your hand? Well, my dad was in that position. My dad, Israel Miranda, is 45 years old and had a very difficult accident with a window glass that cut all his tendons and nerves completely. The doctors gave no hope, but my dad is a healthy man who loves going to the park, playing volleyball, and working.

My dad is currently not working due to the surgery. He hasn't worked for three months, and he was the only one that worked in our family. So, my mom and I have been working so hard to take him to the therapies that are 5 times a week, work, It hit my family pretty hard.

We are a family with not much money, and that's why my dad has no medical insurance. We have no money to pay for everything. I really ask for help. The hospital bill is $77,000, and he gets therapy 5 times a week, with each therapy costing $1,000, so about $5,000 a week. Not only that, but we have to pay the surgeon too, which is $10,000.
